Plot

Take a whimsical journey through the vibrant realms of the Azusa Zoo, where the only beacon of human touch appears to be the ever-busy Porky Pig. The film unfolds with a playful array of visual puns, featuring a Missing Lynx, a witty Tortoise and his Hair, and a Bum Steer, setting the tone for the delightful spectacle to follow. Witness the trio of wolves - Timber, Gray, and Hollywood - with their distinct characters, while Porky ingeniously uses a carnival-style contraption to feed the towering giraffe. A proud rabbit flaunts his fluffy cotton tail, while a parade of March Hares marches past, all amidst a recurring gag where a restless lion paces, seemingly in search of something elusive. The zoo is not just a place of mischief and gags, but also an unexpected stage for WWII references. A rabbit, overwhelmed by his sprawling family, is perturbed by a government mandate to boost production by 100%. A panther, post-feast, casually adds his bowl to a pile of scrap aluminum. In this world full of delightful oddities, Porky navigates through humorous challenges, like trying to feed the finicky seals with something other than their preferred mountain trout, only to be met with a firm "no substitutions" sign. Even a hippo's elusive sensitive spot doesn't escape his investigative stick. The climax of the recurring lion gag delivers a sweet surprise. An ice cream vendor's arrival prompts an eager signal from the lion. But it's not the cold treat that the lion craves, rather its unsuspecting deliverer. This playful twist concludes a tour filled with laughter, unexpected narratives, and a heartwarming peek into the animal kingdom's comedic side.
