Valiant (2005)

In the throes of World War II, Valiant, a diminutive yet unflinchingly brave wood pigeon, harbors an insatiable desire to serve his homeland, Britain. Hearing the call for recruits from the prestigious Royal Homing Pigeon Service, he immediately embarks on a journey to London, leaving behind the familiar woodland of his birth. Along the way, he crosses paths with Bugsy, a disheveled but affable pigeon, who despite his previous fraudulent dealings in a game of find-the-pebble, becomes an unexpected ally and companion in Valiant's noble pursuit. Despite his common origins, Valiant is determined to rise above his ordinary existence. He dreams not just of serving, but of becoming a true war hero. The reality of war, however, is harsher than he imagines. The task of ferrying encoded messages across the treacherous expanse of the English Channel is fraught with mortal danger, particularly with the terrifying General Von Talon and his lethal squadron of falcons prowling the skies. The stakes are raised when Mercury, a seasoned dove-courier, falls captive behind enemy lines. Now, the survival of the mission and the fate of the brave Mercury rest on the wings of Valiant and his courageous Squad F. Facing perilous odds and fearsome adversaries, the unlikeliest of heroes must rise to the occasion. Will Valiant fulfill his dreams of heroism, or will he remain just an ordinary pigeon? Only the trials of war will tell.
