Tuvalu (1999)

In a barren, monochrome world, a crumbling public bathhouse clings to life, helmed by a self-important blind man, his weary wife, and their diligent son, Anton. Anton shoulders the daily grind, his solitude only interrupted by the radiant Eva, who visits the bathhouse with her father. When fate leaves Eva homeless, they find shelter in the bathhouse, only for tragedy to strike and claim her father's life. Eva, consumed by grief and anger, blames Anton, and appears to gravitate toward the brutish Gregor. As Anton battles to regain Eva's affection, keep his family's bathhouse operational, and pass a stringent government inspection, he dreams of the idyllic island of Tuvalu. Can Anton navigate the chaos of his world to win back his love, save his family's livelihood, and possibly find his own paradise?
