Thorne: Sleepyhead (2010)

“Meet D.I. Tom Thorne. A man as complex as his cases.”

Plot

In the chilling grip of "Thorne", Detective Inspector Tom Thorne plunges into the shadowy pursuit of a calculating serial killer. This macabre predator, far from ordinary, leaves a trail of dead victims in his wake, each meeting their end through a sinister manipulation of pressure points inducing fatal strokes. Yet, it's the survivor, Alison Willetts, who brings an unnerving twist to the tale. Trapped in her own body, Alison is a living testament to the killer's ghastly work, able to see, hear, and sense everything around her but cruelly robbed of the ability to move or communicate. As Thorne delves deeper into this chilling investigation, he grapples with his own demons from a haunting past case. He becomes increasingly entwined with Alison's silent world, believing that within her trapped consciousness lie the secrets needed to unmask the psychopath. The police conjecture that in leaving Alison alive, the killer has committed his first error, a crack in his otherwise flawless modus operandi. "Thorne" is an edge-of-your-seat thriller, where the line between life and death is blurred, and the hunt for truth becomes a race against time. DI Thorne must decipher the silent messages from a living victim, and step into the twisted mind of a ruthless killer, hoping to halt his reign of terror before another life is claimed.
