This Is It (2009)

The "This Is It" show was designed to be a showcase for Michael Jackson's talents in the wake of relentless scandals that had seemed to hound his career for years, but the sold-out international tour would never happen. Michael would die while preparing for the tour, but the footage, rehearsals, and interviews recorded here shine a lot on the problematic last days of the formerly reigning King of Pop. It's a glimpse into the mind of a dying pop star but also a reminder of exactly how this strange young man managed to make the whole world fall in love with him once.
