Following the successful culinary adventures in Northern England and Italy, acclaimed British comedians Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are once again commissioned by The Guardian, this time in collaboration with the New York Times, to embark on a week-long gastronomic voyage through the vibrant landscapes of Spain. A journey that not only tantalizes their taste buds but also mirrors a youthful journey Steve took at the age of eighteen. Rob, ever the companion, readily agrees to join Steve, favoring it over other prospects. Their journey, inevitably infused with the spirit of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, is partially provoked by Steve's involvement in Terry Gilliam's film project on the famous duo. As they traverse through the heart of Spain, the pair is accompanied by an array of celebrities, from Mick Jagger to Hugh Grant, albeit in the form of their spot-on impersonations. Unlike their previous trips, there is a sense of equilibrium in their lives. Rob enjoys the comfort of his role as a devoted husband to Sally and father to Chloe and Charlie. Simultaneously, Steve is on a professional high, buoyed by recent Oscar nominations, a committed long-distance relationship with Mischa, and the rekindled connection with his twenty-year-old son Jonathan, who will meet him at the trip's end in southern Spain. However, as they journey further, Steve finds himself grappling silently with a series of crises threatening to disrupt his professional and personal life. As the road ahead unravels, their journey becomes more than just a trip, morphing into a voyage of self-discovery, camaraderie, and mouth-watering culinary delights.
