In the verdant, perilous jungle of Thailand, a courageous young officer embarks on a daring mission to liberate a captivating maiden from the clutches of her own tribe - the sinister "Worm Tribe" who have doomed her to a gruesome sacrifice. This heroic act, however, condemns him to seven deadly "Blood Curses", eerie afflictions that manifest in his leg intermittently. The seventh and final curse is fatal, but Betsy, the enchanting damsel he rescued, halts the deadly progression with a temporary antidote — a reprieve that only lasts a year. Guided by the sage advice of the wise and enigmatic Wisely (Chow Yun Fat), our officer ventures once again into the heart of Thailand, this time in search of a lasting cure to overturn his impending doom. A cascade of action unfolds as he and his allies wage war against the malevolent sorcerer of the Worm Tribe, a horrific, blood-craving entity reminiscent of an infant, and the terrifying "Old Ancestor" — a glowing-eyed skeleton that morphs into a monstrous hybrid of Rodan and Alien.
