Plot

In this riveting two-part television adaptation of Louis L'Amour's third novel in the Sackett series, we journey alongside the three Sackett brothers, Tell, Orrin, and Tyrell, as they venture from their humble Tennessee roots to the untamed territories of the American West. Each brother embarks on a distinct path, their journeys woven together by the bonds of brotherhood and a shared quest for a brighter future. Tell Sackett, the eldest, parts ways with his brothers a few years earlier, trading the familiarity of home for the allure of adventure. He finds himself immersed in the high-stakes world of card games, where he faces off with a notorious figure known as "Bigelow". An unexpected turn of events leads to a deadly confrontation, transforming Tell into a gold prospector, forever hunted by the vengeful Bigelow brothers. Meanwhile, Orrin and Tyrell find camaraderie and guidance in the company of two seasoned cowboys, Tom Sunday and Cap Rountree. They embrace the rugged cowboy lifestyle, herding cattle towards the bustling town of Santa Fe. Here, they become embroiled in a simmering dispute, a volatile clash between the Mexican locals and the American settlers who wish to claim the land as their own. As the brothers' paths converge once more, the narrative unfolds to reveal a tale of courage, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of a dream. The Sackett brothers, each with their unique journey, navigate the challenges and perils of the wild west, their stories echoing with the timeless themes of love, loyalty, and the indomitable spirit of the American frontier.
