Plot

In the hallowed halls of Oxford University, two first-year students from aristocratic backgrounds, Alistair and Miles, embark on a path of privilege and power. Miles, grounded and content, is happily in a relationship with Lauren, a woman from a less privileged background. In stark contrast, Alistair is an arrogant elitist, aspiring to follow in the footsteps of his influential Tory MP uncle. Their shared journey begins when they are inducted into the Riot Club, an infamous elite drinking society celebrated for its unbridled hedonism and the unshakeable belief that money can buy anything. Barred from the majority of Oxford's establishments, the Riot Club holds its annual dinner in a quaint country pub. Their unruly antics soon infuriate the other patrons, but the landlord, Chris, is placated with generous reimbursements. As the night descends into chaos, their debauchery escalates. They hire a sex worker who refuses their group advances, and in their intoxicated state, harass Lauren, much to Max's dismay. Driven by alcohol and drugs, they proceed to wreak havoc on the establishment. When Chris intervenes, Alistair brutally assaults him, landing him in the hospital. While the event shocks them, none intervene, except for Miles, who is assaulted before he has a chance to call for help. As police arrest the young men, they decide to protect the club's reputation over individual responsibility, suggesting that the newest member, Miles, should bear the blame for the attack on Chris. The Riot Club is a harrowing tale of privilege, power, and the terrifying lengths some will go to preserve it. It's a stark exploration of elite society and the devastating consequences of unchecked hedonism.
