The Nutty Professor (1963)

In the hallowed halls of a quaint little college, resides Professor Julius Kelp, a spectacle-wearing, socially inept chemistry genius. He is a man whose life has been punctuated by the disheartening rhythm of ridicule and bullying, especially from his own students, the muscular football players, who tower over him both physically and socially. The gentle Kelp, however, captures the empathetic gaze of the beautiful Stella Purdy, whose sage advice encourages him to face his tormentors rather than succumbing to their whims. But Kelp, armed with a formidable intellect and a lab coat, chooses to fight fire with chemistry. He concocts an extraordinary potion, a vial of liquid metamorphosis, that transforms him from a downtrodden nerd into the slick, debonair, and somewhat obnoxious Buddy Love. This new alter ego, a chick magnet with an unsavory personality, becomes an instant sensation, even though Stella describes him as a 'rude and discourteous egomaniac'. However, this solution comes with its own set of problems. The transformation is not under Kelp's control, and just like Cinderella's enchanted carriage, he reverts back to his original form at the most inconvenient times.
