Plot

"The Mauritanian" (2021) is a fact-based account of Mohamedou Ould Slahi's fight for justice after being detained and imprisoned without charge by the U.S. Government for 14 years. The film is based on Slahi's New York Times best-selling memoir, "Guantánamo Diary," which was published in 2015 while he was still imprisoned. Slahi is assisted by defense attorney Nancy Hollander and her associate, Teri Duncan, who lodge a tireless fight for justice that tests their resolve and perspective at every turn. Their advocacy faces many challenges along the way. When the shocking truth is revealed, everyone involved is forever changed. In short, it is a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
