The Manchurian Candidate (2004)

Raymond Shaw was nominated as a vice presidential candidate largely based on the valor he showed during the first Gulf War. Then a sergeant first class, Shaw has memories of heroically saving his fellow soldiers from an ambush while in the middle of a raid. But Shaw's memories and the public relations story don't always align, and Shaw begins to suspect that some one may have messed with his memory. In a United States that's under authoritarian rule, it's not easy to trust anyone — but Shaw may not be able to trust even his own mind. He suspects he may be an agent for an enemy power.
