Plot

In a whirlwind of supernatural adventures, American businessman turned China scholar, Nick Orton, finds himself plucked from his mundane existence and thrust into a mystical world filled with Chinese gods, demons, and fantastical creatures. As a reluctant hero, Nick is chosen by the merciful Buddhist goddess to prevent his world from spiraling back into the ancient era of the sinister Demon Master Shu and the Five Traditional Masters, who are hell-bent on halting the march of progress. Aiding him are three unique companions; The Handsome Monkey King, a humanoid ape with extraordinary strength and magical prowess; Pigsy, a humanoid pig-man with a heart as large as his appetite; and Friar Sand, his fearless brother-in-arms and a reformed cannibal.
