Plot

In the heartland of Wyoming, rancher Jim Kirk (Bill Elliott) embarks on a daring endeavor: to crossbreed his sturdy Texas longhorns with robust Herefords, envisioning a new breed of meat stock that's heavier and more profitable. Alongside him on this ambitious journey to Oregon to acquire the Herefords, is his trusted companion Andy (Myron Healey), unbeknownst to Jim, a pawn in a gang's nefarious scheme to rob him. Their trail blazes with danger as they encounter hostile Indians, leading to Jim heroically saving a wounded Andy. His compassionate side shines as he ensures Andy receives medical attention at the welcoming home of Gail Robinson (Phyllis Coates) and her father (I. Stanford Jolley). With the Herefords purchased, the journey back to Wyoming proves no less perilous. Unaware of the simmering treachery, Jim is joined once again by the still-conspiring Andy, the spirited Gail and her father, and a motley crew of outlaws masquerading as trail herders. The Longhorn (1951) is a stirring tale of courage, friendship, and the unyielding spirit of the Wild West, laden with tension, action, and unexpected alliances.
