Plot

In the heart-wrenching world of schoolboy Rikkie Boskamp, life is a battlefield, riddled with ruthless bullies and the piercing pain of motherless existence. His father, Paul, a timid accountant, doesn't inspire much awe or respect, making Rikkie a prime target for schoolyard torment. However, when a golden opportunity for a promotion dangles before Paul, Rikkie seizes the chance to rewrite their humdrum narrative and catapult them into an exciting suburban life brimming with potential. Tucking away his old life, Rikkie steps into the new school, not as a victim, but as a dashing figure of intrigue. He weaves a tale of grandeur, transforming their mundane family into the notorious 'Boskampi' mafia, with the unsuspecting Italian pizzeria owner Gina's gentle giant brother, Anton, as his unwitting henchman. The once-tormented schoolboy becomes Rikkie Boskampi, the respected son of the intimidating mafia boss, Paulo Boskampi. Their newfound respect and fear-inspiring reputation give them a taste of the good life, where bullies are nothing more than distant nightmares. However, the fantasy starts to unravel when Roderick, a ghost from Rikkie's bullied past, transfers to his new school, and the nosy neighborhood watch fanatic, retired cop Fred, starts sniffing around. To add to the mounting tension, the real mob, irked by the audacious imposters, begins to take notice. As Rikkie's web of deception grows more complex, one can't help but wonder, how long can he keep up the charade before everything falls apart? This intriguing comedy, based on Marjon Hoffman's book, explores the lengths one boy will go to escape his tormentors and the chaos that ensues when fantasy and reality collide.
