This sparked a chain of events that led to the young Princess Deokye's forced departure from Korea for an education in Japan, marking the beginning of a ceaseless cycle of despair, shattered dreams and deep sorrow. Her longing for return finally found fulfillment after thirty-seven years in 1962. The narrative skillfully integrates elements from Kwon Bi-young's 2009 novel, introducing fictional characters that enhance the tale's dramatic depth and emotional intensity. Princess Deokhye's later years unfold within the confines of Chang-deok Palace, her life painting a poignant portrait of resilience until her demise in 1989.
