Plot

In the icy grip of Iceland, two sisters, Margit and Katla, are propelled into exile following the chilling execution of their mother, a woman reviled for her witchcraft. As they navigate their new reality, the older, cunning Katla weaves a powerful spell over Jóhann, a naive young farmer. Under the enchantment, he is ensnared in a realm of illusionary love for Katla, providing a haven for the sisters. However, Jóhann's son, Jóhas, isn't as easily swayed. His innocent eyes pierce through the veil of sorcery that Katla has cast over his father, and he embarks on a desperate plea to liberate his family from her bewitching grip. Amidst this turmoil, Margit is visited by spectral visions of their deceased mother, who bestows upon her a magical amulet. This mystical talisman holds the potential to shield young Jóhas from Katla's insidious influence. "The Juniper Tree" is a chilling saga of magic, manipulation, and the struggle for control. Will Jóhas succeed in his attempt to banish Katla, or will the sisters continue to ensnare his family in their web of witchcraft? The answer lies within this haunting, ethereal tale of love and deceit.
