Plot

In the shadowy underworld, Carol Jean "CJ" March stands as a ruthless yet alluring figure, a professional assassin bound in service to the formidable mobster, Vernon Cray. Her reputation crumbles when she botches her latest assignment: retrieving a half-million dollars worth of drugs. The briefcase she snatches is empty, the man she was meant to kill leaves her a step behind, and her trail leads to an unforeseen predicament. Roger Washington, the man with the switched briefcase, becomes a mystery to unravel. His life abruptly ends at the hands of Troy Riverside, a punk with dreams of trading the stolen drugs for a life in Arizona with his expectant girlfriend, Emily "Em" Robin. CJ, an orphan and daughter of a prostitute, finds herself in a starkly parallel position, discovering her own unplanned pregnancy. Her attempt to erase this unexpected twist leads her to a bar where she encounters Rick, a former priest who takes a keen interest in her troubled life. When CJ discovers Roger's lifeless body, her mission shifts to tracking down Troy. She finds Emily instead, a mirror image of her own predicament. An unwritten rule in her assassin code prevents her from pulling the trigger on the pregnant woman. As she grapples with her own internal turmoil and the external chaos, the question lingers - will she be able to complete her final assignment? As CJ burns the candle at both ends, the movie "The Job" explores a world where cold-blooded duty clashes with the unexpected twists of humanity.
