The Dog Who Saved Summer (2015)

As the sun-soaked days of summer descend upon the Bannister household, the monotony of school is replaced by a new challenge for their cherished canine, Zeus (voiced by Mario Lopez). Following a disastrous mishap at a party meticulously planned by Belinda (Elisa Donovan), the Bannister matriarch, Zeus finds himself enrolled in a rigid obedience school under the stern eyes of the no-nonsense instructor Vernon (Martin Kove). Misfortune continues to chase Zeus as he grapples with every lesson and his owner George (Gary Valentine) lands in hot water with the strict Vernon. Adding to the chaos, Apollo, Vernon's K-9 assistant (voiced by William Zabka), ensures that there is no tail-wagging fun to be had. The stakes skyrocket as the Bannister offspring, Kara and Ben (Francesca Capaldi and Cole Jensen), face the heart-wrenching possibility that their beloved Zeus might be sent to the pound following his obedience school failures. However, just when hope seems lost, Zeus finds an unlikely ally in a wise janitor, Mr. Lee (James Hong), who unveils his unconventional training techniques. With time running out, Zeus must harness his newfound skills to not only save his place in the Bannister family but also thwart the nefarious plans of a trio of clumsy thieves (Dean Cain, Patrick Muldoon, Joey "Coco" Diaz). With the fate of his summer hanging in the balance, can Zeus rise to the occasion, outsmart the thieves, and prove himself to be top dog at the school's showcase? The Dog Who Saved Summer is a delightful romp filled with mischief, mayhem, and a dogged determination to save the day.
