The Closer You Get (2000)

In the quaint, remote village of Donegal, Ireland, a group of hopeful lads take a shot in the dark, placing an advertisement in the Miami Herald. Their plea? Inviting charismatic and attractive women, aged 20 to 21, to inject some life into their isolated hamlet. As news of the ad travels through the village, it stirs up a gust of self-reflection, making them realize the potential for joy already nestled within their grasp. Kate, a spirited pub owner and mother to a young girl, finds herself in the throes of separating from her husband. In the midst of this upheaval, she catches the softened gaze of a solitary sheep farmer. Meanwhile, Kieran, the village's butcher, begins to see his assistant Siobhan in a new light. He's always known her to be pretty, but when he discovers her fiery spirit, his interest is truly piqued. Elsewhere, the audacious Ollie orders Dutch skin magazines, only to have them held captive by the village's stern postmistress.
