The Case of the Dead Deadman (2020)

In the high-stakes race for the position of Criminal Service Commander, Lieutenant Commanders Izidor Vlk and Herkules Drátek find themselves in a deadly game of ambition and sabotage. Vlk's aspirations are thwarted by his own ineptitude, pushing his cunning assistant into a desperate ploy to secure his promotion. A sinister twist of fate leads to a failed assassination attempt, leaving both Vlk and Drátek gravely injured and in dire need of transplants, culminating in a grim survival of the fittest. Months later, the chilling murder of Katerina Starablazková rattles the force. With an axe lodged in her skull and the cryptic sign 'ATSMOP' emblazoned on her furniture, her death is a grisly riddle that beckons Major Prubner, Drátek's former subordinate, and his team - the tenacious Skálová and seasoned detectives Rorýs and Dymák. Their investigation only deepens the mystery as they uncover the same ominous sign in the case of Kozina Sladky's inexplicable suicide from a towering apartment block, and the brutal assassination of ex-Criminal Police Chief Horváth. The enigmatic symbol is further echoed in the office of police psychologist Kmonícková, who falls victim to an insidious hypnosis. As the body count rises and the labyrinthine case unfolds, the team must decipher the cryptic clues left behind, plunging them into a dark web of murder, intrigue, and a corruption that reaches deeper than they could ever imagine.
