Plot

In the gentle embrace of a warm summer night, the quaint tranquility of a small town is subtly disrupted by the unexpected arrival of four orphaned siblings - Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny. Veiled in mystery, these young nomads have emerged from an unknown past, their origins a puzzle that the townsfolk cannot piece together. Haunted by the prospect of living with a grandfather they've never met and whose reputation they've misunderstood, the children find solace and sanctuary in an abandoned, crimson-hued boxcar nestled in the heart of the forest. Resourceful and resilient, Henry, the eldest, ventures into town, trading his labour for food and supplies, while the younger ones ingeniously transform the boxcar into a home, scavenging for forgotten treasures in a nearby junkyard. Amidst the hardships, they cultivate a joyous existence, their spirit unbroken, relishing the sweet fruits of independence and the intimate bond of kinship. Nevertheless, life in the wild is not without its trials. When Violet succumbs to a grave illness, her brothers and sister confront an agonizing dilemma. To save Violet, they must risk their secret haven's exposure and seek help from Dr. Moore, Henry's benign employer. It's a gambit that could cost them their newfound freedom, but it also unveils the truth about their estranged grandfather, shattering misconceptions and offering the siblings a second chance at a life they could only dream of - in a grand mansion, complete with spectacular bedrooms, yet still brimming with the love and unity they cultivated in their little boxcar home.
