In the heart of Calcutta during the early 1960s, Bhambal finds himself shouldering the financial burden for his family, which includes his wife, Arati, their young son, his teenage sister, and aging parents. Money is a scarce commodity, prompting Arati to step out of traditional confines and venture into the working world.
