Plot
It’s 1954 and Bernard Garrett is a black man in America thwarted by the racist establishment from getting into real estate development. He meets a fellow African American, Joe Morris, and they form an audacious plan. They convince a blue-collar worker and white man, Matt Steiner, to act as a front for their business. Garrett and Morris pose as Steiner’s janitor and chauffeur while they pull all the strings on money-making deals. Since bankers believe they’re working with a white man, the investment flows in – but their false front operation is about to hit some snags.
