Plot

In the shadowy realms of the Austrian dark comedy, Taxi Für Eine Leiche (Taxi For A Corpse), helmed by the visionary Wolfgang Murnberger, the lines between suspicion and guilt blur as a corpse mysteriously vanishes. The dark underbelly of Vienna trembles in fear of an elusive necktie murderer, whose latest victim is found in the heart of a decrepit suburban cinema. Caught up in this web of mystery is the cinema owner and her companion, Schorsch, who find themselves embroiled in a delicate dilemma. In a desperate attempt to quietly dispose of the body, they hope to avoid attention, particularly given the cinema owner's past dealings and monetary debt to the deceased. However, their plans are thwarted as the corpse inexplicably disappears, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding chaos. As the plot thickens, a hairdresser, her taxi driving beau, and the enigmatic Gabriel – all patrons of the local café Sperlhof – are reluctantly drawn into the whirlpool of suspicion. As the characters navigate their way through a labyrinth of accusations and perilous situations, they begin to question each other's innocence or potential complicity in the crime. In the world of Taxi Für Eine Leiche, trust is a rare luxury and every face hides a potential killer.
