Plot

In the sun-soaked city of Málaga, Spain, the year is 1978. This is the backdrop for the life-altering summer of young Miguelito Dávila (Alberto Amarilla), a dreamer with a passion for classic poetry and aspirations of becoming a poet. Having recently emerged from the shadows of kidney disease and hospital confinement, Miguelito seeks solace in the prose of Dante's Divine Comedy and dreams of escaping his mundane job at a hardware store. As the summer heat intensifies, Miguelito reunites with his childhood companions: the charismatic Babirusa (Raúl Arévalo), the affluent Paco Frontón (Félix Gómez), and the lively Moratalla (Mario Casas). Their seemingly ordinary summer takes a turn when Miguelito crosses paths with the vivacious Luli (María Ruiz) at the local swimming pool. Luli, a hopeful dancer, is inseparable from her best friend "La cuerpo" (Marta Nieto), who harbors a secret crush on Miguelito's well-to-do friend Paco. In the midst of their shared escapades and poolside rendezvous, the quartet embarks on a journey of self-discovery, testing the waters of life beyond their familiar surroundings. Miguelito's world further expands when he sparks a clandestine romance with an older teacher (Victoria Abril), who recognizes his poetic potential. Simultaneously, Luli is wooed by the suave Cardona (Antonio Garrido), a man of means who dangles the enticing prospect of a professional dancing career before her. As the summer rain descends over Málaga, an intricate tapestry of friendship, love, dreams, and betrayal unfolds, setting the stage for a summer they will never forget.
