Stasis (2017)

In the aftermath of a night steeped in revelry, teenager Ava stirs from slumber, only to discover that she's not the first one home. In a twist of life-altering surrealism, Ava finds herself face-to-face with an identical replication of herself, comfortably nestled in her own bed. This doppelgänger is not just a figment of her imagination, but a time-traveling fugitive from a distant future who has brazenly hijacked Ava's body, adopting her identity, and usurping her existence. Unbeknownst to Ava, she's not an isolated victim. A clandestine network of these future-born interlopers is embedded in the past, secretly maneuvering among us, with a sinister agenda to reshape the future. Stripped of her physical form, Ava is reduced to an ethereal specter, silent and unseen in a world that once belonged to her. Driven by desperation and a sense of surreal solitude, she becomes the sole beacon of hope against this temporal invasion. Equipped with the knowledge of their existence and their grand scheme, she finds herself in a race against time. Ava must navigate the labyrinth of her ghostly existence, not just to reclaim her stolen life, but to realign the timeline and thwart the machinations of these future fugitives. As far as she knows, she's the world's only defense against a future rewritten by those who should not belong in our time.
