Plot

Pilot for the short lived TV series 'The Amazing Spider-Man', which ran from 1978 - 1979. Based on the Marvel Comic Book character created by Stan Lee, this live action adventures stars Nicholas Hammond as Peter Parker, a young independent photographer who is bitten by a radioactive spider that gives him the ability to cling to walls, superhuman strength, a sixth sense ("spider-sense") that alerts him to danger, perfect balance and equilibrium, as well as superhuman speed and agility. While working part-time at the Daily Bugle under hard noise editor, J. Jonah Jameson, Peter fights crime in the Big Apple, New York City. An extortionist threatens to force a multi-suicide unless a huge ransom is paid. Only Peter Parker can stop him with his new powers as Spider-Man.
