Straight from the tranquil cornfields of South Dakota, wide-eyed farm girl Rebecca "Becca" Warner steps into the frenzied world of UCLA, trading her peaceful rural life for the stimulating pulse of Los Angeles. The transition overwhelms Becca, as she battles homesickness and the disapproval of her family, especially her loyal hometown beau, Travis. However, the enigmatic dorm counselor Crawl, with his infectious zest for city life, convinces her to embrace the urban jungle. As she dives headfirst into the SoCal lifestyle, the once modest Becca transforms, ditching her farm attire for the vibrant city fashion, altering her hair, getting a tattoo, and becoming a roller-blading enthusiast. But as Thanksgiving approaches and a marriage proposal from Travis looms on the horizon, Becca finds herself at a crossroads, torn between her past and her newfound identity. In a moment of impulse, she invites Crawl to spend Thanksgiving with her family back home, an invitation that catapults the eccentric city boy into the heart of rural America. Becca's family and Travis view Crawl with skepticism and scorn, but when Travis, who's been eyeing Becca's friend Tracy, attempts to propose, Crawl disrupts the moment by announcing his own engagement to Becca. As he proves his mettle in the rural setting, he gradually wins over Becca's family, including her brother Zack and even the stern Grandpa Walter Sr. However, Travis, desperate to win Becca back and aided by farmhand Theo, hatches a devious plan to discredit Crawl.
