Plot

In the vibrant heartland of Gujrat, Shahjada Ijjat Beg, a passionate wanderer with a prophetic vision of his destined love, finds refuge. The alluring charm of the town is a humble shop of metal pots, tended by the enchanting Sohni. The spark of an undeniable attraction ignites between them as Ijjat Beg exchanges his scant money for her pots, their hearts exchanging unspoken promises. Soon, Ijjat Beg replaces Sohni's servant, an unconventional decision that sets the town's tongues wagging but offers the clandestine lovers more opportunities to meet, their love blooming amidst the sculpting of pottery products. However, the town's growing scandal becomes a storm they cannot weather. In a desperate bid to quell the rumors, Sohni is hastily married off to Rehaman, a man slightly unhinged, his mind as fractured as the society they live in. Yet, the flames of their forbidden love refuse to die. Sohni and Ijjat Beg continue to meet in stolen moments, their rendezvous hidden under the guise of his fishing expeditions. But the shadow of Noor, an obsessive admirer of Sohni, looms large. Driven by jealousy, he is hell-bent on tearing the lovers apart, his actions as unpredictable as the shifting sands of their homeland. As the atmosphere of their small town grows stifling, Sohni and Ijjat Beg face a fateful decision. Their love, once a defiant ember, now threatens to consume them, leading them towards a poignant water grave. Yet, even in the face of despair, their love story remains a testament to an unyielding passion that transcends societal norms and personal trials. "Sohni Mahiwal" is a timeless tale of love, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of the human heart.
