Sing Street (2016)

In 1985 Dublin, Conor is 15 years old and has just been transferred to a new school as a way for his family to save money. Conor's a sensitive kid who struggles under the authoritarian direction of the religious public school, but he finds a ray of home when he meets the beautifully distant Raphina. In a desperate attention to impress her, he tells her he's in a band and invites her to model for their videos. In order to keep pace with his lies, Conor starts a band with a group of other wayward youth and finds an escape from the chaos of his school and family lives.
