Silent Venom (2009)

In the dense wilderness of a secluded island in the Pacific, a new strain of mutant snake makes its home. Here, Dr. Andrea Swanson and her assistant, Jake, conduct clandestine military research aimed at creating the ultimate anti-toxin. However, when political tensions with the Chinese military heat up, Admiral Bradley Wallace orchestrates a hasty evacuation of the island, leaving an antiquated, decommissioned submarine as the only route home. Wallace assigns the seasoned yet disgruntled Lt. Commander James O'Neill to pilot the submarine on its final journey to Taiwan. Faced with a forced retirement, O'Neill is less than thrilled to chaperone his two unexpected guests. But unbeknownst to him, they are not the only passengers. Andrea was ordered to transport some of the experimental snakes back to the mainland, and Jake, unbeknownst to her, has smuggled aboard some of the deadliest mutated serpents, including a colossal diamondback. As the submarine embarks on its voyage, a surprise attack from a Chinese vessel unleashes the lethal creatures from their secure confinement. The snakes, ravenous and relentless, begin to hunt the crew members one by one, turning the submarine's cramped spaces into a claustrophobic nightmare. But nothing can prepare them for the terror unleashed when the monstrous diamondback escapes, growing larger and more ferocious with each victim it consumes. O'Neill and Andrea, despite their initial friction, must band together to fend off the terrifying serpents, while Wallace grapples with the pressing worry of an international incident. As they navigate the treacherous underwater terrain, with enemy vessels tracking their every move, the crew's survival hangs in the balance. What was supposed to be a routine decommissioning mission descends into a nerve-wracking battle for survival against an unstoppable force of nature. Will O'Neill and his crew make it home alive, or will this submarine's final voyage be their last?
