In the underbelly of Seattle's forgotten alleys, Hollis Wallace carves out a living from the discarded debris of everyday life. As a seasoned scrapper, he navigates a world unseen by many, his livelihood hinged on the abandoned copper and aluminum that form America's fourth largest export. Living a life of solitude, Hollis's only companion is his frail mother, and his life's mission to gather enough scrap to sustain her. However, Hollis's solitary existence is upended by an unlikely encounter with Swan, a teenage runaway, in the disquieting basement of an eccentric neighbor. This chance meeting sparks an unusual partnership, a camaraderie that teeters on the edge of friendship, formed in the face of life's harsh realities. But the forces that haunt their lives threaten to shatter this fragile bond.
