Plot

Ten years ago, Samba, a diligent Senegalese man, left his native land and ventured into the heart of France, immersing himself in a menagerie of low-ranking jobs. Across the city, Alice, a once high-flying senior executive, grapples with the aftermath of a debilitating burn-out that has left her life in disarray. Drawn together by the chaotic threads of their lives, Samba and Alice find themselves in an unlikely friendship. Samba, desperate for legal recognition in France, is willing to navigate the labyrinth of bureaucracy for the elusive working papers. Alice, on the other hand, volunteers her time, aiding him in his legal battles as she seeks to mend the fragmented pieces of her own life. In the midst of their struggle, an undercurrent of chemistry begins to simmer. Samba is thrown into a whirlpool of uncertainty when he's released, but ordered to leave France. Will this unexpected twist sever their blossoming connection, or will fate decide to intertwine their lives even more tightly? "Samba" (2014) is a tale of resilience and human connection, a poignant exploration of the lengths people will go to escape the cul-de-sacs of their lives, and the improbable friendships that can bloom in the midst of adversity.
