Plot

In the hustle and buzz of Valencia, 45-year-old Rosa finds herself teetering on the edge of existential oblivion. Juggling her responsibilities as a costume designer in the film industry with an overwhelming commitment to her dysfunctional family, Rosa's life is a whirlwind of chaos. Her brother Armando is a beleaguered English teacher wrestling with a failing marriage and distant children; her sister Violeta is an interpreter grappling with job insecurity and fear of displacement by younger colleagues; her daughter Lidia, living in Manchester with her absent husband Johnny, is consumed by the challenges of motherhood; and her widowed father Antonio, still grieving his wife's death, reveals plans to move in with Rosa. Further muddying the waters is Rosa's boyfriend Rafa, a workaholic who seldom lends her an empathetic ear. Desperate for an escape, Rosa retreats to her birthplace, Benicassim, where the memories of her mother's old tailor shop provide a glimmer of hope. Inspired by the prospect of a life where she is free to follow her dreams, Rosa resolves to breathe new life into the tailor shop and takes a radical decision - to marry herself, a symbolic gesture of choosing her own happiness. However, her sudden disappearance sends ripples through her family. Armando and Violeta scramble in their futile search for Rosa, while Lidia returns to Spain, babies in tow, only to discover an empty, unfurnished house. When the trio finally uncovers Rosa's location and learns of her wedding plans, confusion ensues. Armando, assuming Rosa's groom to be Rafa, takes it upon himself to orchestrate a grand wedding, inadvertently spreading the news throughout the town. Amidst the ensuing chaos - Lidia feeling estranged, Violeta grappling with job loss, and Armando plotting to sell the tailor shop - Rosa finds herself once again at the center of a storm. With her self-wedding spiraling out of control, she must now muster the courage to clarify her intentions, reclaim her life, and finally, step into the sunlight of her newfound freedom.
