Plot

In the bustling heart of Dublin's docks, Colm, a man in his mid-forties, oversees a managerial position while juggling the responsibilities of a family man. His life, seemingly comfortable with a loving wife Claire and two teenage children, begins to crumble with the death of his father, a tumultuous figure that leaves a shadow over his existence. The echoes of his father’s destructiveness reverberate through Colm's relationship with his own son, further fracturing his emotional stability. As he grapples with this loss, a professional storm brews when a corporate takeover threatens his job, pushing him into redundancy. This downward spiral is fueled by his inability to confide in Claire, and he takes solace in the depths of heavy drinking. His world, once familiar, is now disintegrating around him. In the midst of this whirlwind, a chance encounter with Jay, a young man of 19 years with a life marred by prostitution, becomes an unexpected lifeline. Their sexual trysts and blossoming friendship offer Colm a solace that he fails to find amidst his loved ones. This newfound comfort in Jay's presence, however, walks a dangerous line, adding a reckless edge to his already precarious existence. As Colm's infatuation deepens, he teeters dangerously on the precipice, risking the stability of his family life. His struggle between the comfort of the past and the chaos of the present paints a vivid picture of a man on the edge, trying to navigate his way through the fog of grief and self-destruction.
