Four addicts in Coney Island find themselves in a paradise of their own mind until the harsh realities of their habits come crashing down around their heads. Harry is a heroin junkie incapable of functioning in regular society, but he entertains dreams of becoming a big time drug dealer with his friend Tyrone. His mother has issues of his own. Sara has grown addicted to a self-help TV show and obsesses about becoming an audience member on that show. And then there's Harry's girlfriend Sara — a talented young woman who could have a big future if she can just steer clear of Harry's influences.
