Plot

Amidst the turbulent backdrop of the 1948 partition of Hindustan, Bihar-based Manzur Ahmed, with his wife, daughter, and mother, find themselves compelled to relocate to East Pakistan. This seismic shift in their lives is spurred by a political clash between Sheikh Mujib Rehman and Pakistan's General Bhutto, leading to the birth of Bangladesh. Their journey, fraught with danger and uncertainty, necessitates crossing two contentious borders – one with India and Bangladesh, and the second with India and Pakistan. Far from the familiar landscapes of their homeland, they navigate their way from Dhaka to Guwahati, Delhi, Ajmer, and finally Bhuj, before reaching the precipice of Pakistan's Haji Peer. At this juncture, they encounter an enigmatic guide known only as Refugee, the son of Jaan Mohammad, who escorts them across the desolate expanse of the Rann desert to Atta Mohammad's sanctuary in Pakistan. Refugee, a hardened smuggler of people and illicit weapons across these fraught borders, perceives his clients as mere baggage, consciously avoiding any emotional entanglement. However, upon encountering the beguiling Nazneen, he finds this rule crumbling. A whirlwind romance ensues, challenging Refugee's stoic exterior and jeopardizing his clandestine operations. Aware of the ongoing refugee movement, both sides of the border's law enforcement repeatedly interrogate Refugee and Jaan, escalating the tension. Trouble brews when Refugee aids four men in infiltrating the Indian border, leading to a series of devastating explosions across trains, buses, and buildings. His rendezvous with danger hits a peak when BSF Officer Raghuvir Singh captures him with a cache of RDX plastic explosives. Meanwhile, as Nazneen dreams of a life with Refugee, her parents orchestrate her marriage to a Pakistani Ranger, Ashraf Mohammad. This ignites a ticking time bomb, as Refugee's fate hangs in the balance. The looming question is, what will transpire when Ashraf uncovers the clandestine love between Refugee and his betrothed, and will Refugee ever escape from the iron grip of the Border Security Force? This gripping tale of love, duty, and survival paints a poignant picture of lives caught in the crossfire of history.
