Plot

In Red Doors, we delve into the chaotic world of the Wongs, an eccentrically dysfunctional Chinese-American family residing in the tranquil suburbs of New York. Ed Wong, recently retired, yearns to break free from the monotony of his daily life, but his plans are thwarted by the colorful, unpredictable lives of his three uniquely rebellious daughters. Samantha, the eldest, is a fiercely driven Manhattan businesswoman whose upcoming nuptials are thrown into uncertainty as she unexpectedly encounters a flame from her high school days. Julie, the introverted middle child, finds her existence as a diligent medical student spun on its head when she finds herself falling for a glamorous movie star visiting her hospital. The youngest, Katie, a nonconformist high schooler, partakes in an increasingly risky game of pranks against her longtime nemesis, Simon, who lives next door. The sudden disappearance of Ed forces each daughter to reevaluate her place within the family structure and her understanding of her familial ties. Meanwhile, the Wongs must navigate their individual lives beyond the unseen barriers of their home. The story of Red Doors is a captivating exploration of family, identity, and the complex ties that bind us together - and sometimes pull us apart.
