Plot

In the shimmering allure of Monte Carlo, a whirlwind romance blossoms between a naïve young woman (Lily James) and the dashing widower Maxim de Winter (Armie Hammer). As a newlywed, she is swept away to Manderley, her new husband's grand family estate, perched hauntingly on the windswept English coast. Awed yet inexperienced, she commences her journey into her new life, ensnared in the opulence of her surroundings. Yet, an insidious struggle begins to unfurl as she finds herself eclipsed by the spectral presence of Maxim's first wife, the urbane and elegant Rebecca. The chilling legacy of Rebecca pervades every corner of Manderley, kept eerily alive by the estate's sinister housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers (Kristin Scott Thomas). In this labyrinth of old-world charm and unsettling secrets, the young bride must grapple with the lingering shadow of her predecessor, as Rebecca's legacy continues to haunt the house, and her life, long after her death.
