Plot

In the heart of the story is the tumultuous relationship between Mangalasherry Neelakantan and his ambitious son Karthikeyan, both portrayed with captivating depth by Mohanlal. Karthikeyan, stepping out from under his father's shadow, embarks on a journey to financial independence, only to become ensnared in the morally ambiguous world of liquor barony. His unorthodox methods of acquiring wealth drives a deep wedge between him and his father, Neelakantan, who struggles to reconcile with his son's actions. The plot thickens as Mundakkal Shekharan, a vengeful convict played by Napoleon, re-emerges from the shadows. Nursing an old grudge against Neelakantan for the death of his friend, Shekharan seizes the opportunity to strike at the Mangalasherry family, confiscating their ancestral home to settle a debt for the medical treatment of Bhanumathi, played by Revathy. Her eventual death leaves Karthikeyan thirsting for revenge. In a desperate bid to reclaim his lost home, Karthikeyan sets out on a daring mission, while also kidnapping Shekharan's daughter, Janaki, portrayed by Vasundhara Das. This unlikely pair finds themselves falling for each other amidst the chaos, adding a layer of complexity to their already tangled lives. The plot further twists as Shekharan's nephew, Mundakkal Rajendran, portrayed by Vijayaraghavan, becomes a deadly threat to Karthikeyan's life, leading to a series of unexpected events. "Ravanaprabhu" is an intricate tapestry of family ties, revenge, and unexpected love. This masterpiece leaves the audience guessing at every turn, keeping them on the edge of their seats as Karthikeyan battles against all odds to reclaim his family's honor and home.
