Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982)

“The memories. The madness. The music... The movie.”

Plot

Musician Pink Floyd's breakup with his wife happens so closely with his mental breakdown that it's hard to know which is responsible for the other. Questions like those become inconsequential as we journey into his increasingly paranoid mind. And as his psychedelic fantasies are becoming increasingly lucid, they're still manic reflections of the factors exacerbating them: his shrill and stifling mother and the brutal and punitive education system he grew up in. But as he plummets increasingly into his own delusions, building a figurative and literal wall around himself to protect him from both a myriad of real threats and his own insecurities given form.
