Immersed in the unique and vibrant cityscape of Miami, Florida teems the life of Pincus Finster, a man grappling with a life that is far more complex than he ever envisioned. Straddling the precarious line between his dual roles as the inept head of the family construction enterprise and the reluctant caregiver to his father, Paul, a Parkinson's patient, Pincus yearns for an escape from his mundane existence.
His pursuit of escapism leads him down the rabbit hole of drugs and the unlikely companionship of Dietmar, his sole employee. This aging German expatriate is not just a construction worker but also an illegal alien, who takes refuge in the very homes they are contracted to refurbish, his own solitude mirroring Pincus's.
