Plot
In the quiet rhythm of everyday life, a high school girl named Won-woo bravely battles Narcolepsy, a rare condition that grips her in sleep's grasp during class, exams, and even while walking. This disease, only finding a home in 0.1% of adults, has turned her youth into a labyrinth of dreams and reality. Alongside her, Yun-hee, her steadfast single mother, remains a silent sentinel. Yet, her laughter has long been lost in the sea of constant worry for Won-woo. Together, they endure a monotonous existence, their hearts as cold as stone.
Their lives, however, are poised on the brink of change. Like the first ripple in a still pond, the arrival of two figures disrupts their frozen world. The first, Joon-suh, is a boy whose beauty is reminiscent of a prince from a fairy tale, his presence as enigmatic as it is captivating. Alongside him, Sun-jae appears, a young man whose warmth seems capable of melting even the coldest of hearts.
As these two men enter the lives of Won-woo and Yun-hee, they bring with them the promise of change, the possibility of laughter, and the hope of a life beyond the constraints of their condition. The story of 'One Step More to the Sea' is a tender tale of resilience, a testament to the power of change, and a journey into the heart of what it means to truly live despite the odds.
