Plot

In the heart-pounding excitement of the neighborhood's grand race, Alex and his comrades align their handmade soapbox racers on the summit of the most daunting and expansive hill. With his sister Molly's eyes following each move from the edge of the action, the race commences with the flutter of the checkered flag. Alex, trailing behind, unveils his covert fifth wheel, rapidly surging from the tail of the race to lead the charge. However, the exhilarating velocity comes with a hefty price - an absolute forfeit of control. Alex careens into the notorious Deadman's Curve, shattering an ancient wooden barrier. When the dust of his misadventure dissipates, Alex stumbles upon a remarkable discovery: a fully operational steam locomotive, "The 587", tragically destined to be dismantled. Alex and Molly, fuelled by their newfound purpose, hatch a daring plan to salvage the historic engine. They enlist the help of a seasoned engineer, Russel, his loyal canine Sparky, and a small army of neighborhood kids. Thus unfolds their thrilling escapade, "587: The Great Train Robbery," a tale of audacity, discovery, and the power of unity.
