Plot
In the bustling world of Wall Street, charismatic stockbroker T.T. Ralston has made a daring promise to his philanthropic niece, Gwen. If she can amass $20,000 for charity, he'll match her efforts. However, Ralston is more cunning than he seems, ensuring that Gwen's plea for donations is met with little more than the $10,000 she's already collected. In a secret act of defiance, Gwen entrusts Ralston's fresh-faced partner, Steve Bennett, with her accumulated funds, tasking him with the mission to double it.
As the plot unfolds, a high-stakes conversation ensues between Ralston, Bennett, their associate Dick, and a prominent client, Van. Amidst the heated debate about honesty in their cutthroat industry, Bennett wagers the $10,000 that he can maintain absolute truthfulness for a full 24-hour period. Unbeknownst to him, the real challenge begins when he accepts an invitation to Ralston's lavish houseboat for the weekend. Here, he must navigate a labyrinth of traps designed to coerce a lie from his lips or reveal the details of his bet. Should he falter, he risks losing the $10,000 and shattering Gwen's charitable dreams.
