Plot

In the heart of Lausanne, lives Jeanne, a young aspiring pianist, who discovers a shocking possibility that she may have been mistakenly switched at birth with the son of famed pianist Andre Polonski. This revelation leads her to the opulent halls of the Polonski mansion, where Andre, his son Guillaume, and his newly remarried first wife, Marie-Claire "Mika" Muller, the heiress to a Swiss chocolate factory, reside. Driven by curiosity and an innate yearning for truth, Jeanne daringly introduces her theory to the Polonski family, sparking a wave of doubt and speculation that ripples through their lives. As Jeanne becomes enmeshed in the world of the Polonskis, she finds herself the recipient of Andre's piano tutelage, a move that draws her closer to the family's tangled web of secrets. Jeanne's initial intrigue soon spirals into suspicion. She begins to suspect that Mika might be drugging Guillaume with Rohypnol. But the intrigue doesn't stop there, as Jeanne uncovers a chilling murder that shrouds the Polonski family in mystery, leading her to believe that Mika could be responsible for the death of Andre's second wife, Lisbeth. "Nightcap" is a riveting tale that serves as a window into the frosty dynamics and thinly veiled insincerities of the French upper class. The film peels back the layers of their false happiness, revealing an underbelly of hypocrisy and cold indifference, expertly masked by the veneer of 'bon ton'. This gripping narrative is more than a story of a potential cradle swap - it is a journey into the heart of a family where secrets and lies are the real ties that bind.
