Plot

In this whimsical cinematic short, created solely as a unique wedding gift for Lord and Lady Mountbatten, lies a tale brimming with light-hearted intrigue and cheeky exploits. The core of the narrative revolves around Lady Mountbatten's prized possession - a luminous pearl necklace that has caught the covetous eyes of a motley crew of bandits. Enter Charlie Chaplin, donning his iconic tramp attire, mysteriously summoned to thwart these would-be thieves. His weapon of choice? A wooden hammer that materializes out of thin air in his hand. With a swift swing and a dash of Chaplin's signature slapstick style, the crooks find themselves unconscious, neatly lined up on the verdant lawn. An unexpected sight awaits next to the rogues - Jackie Coogan, who, for reasons known only to the filmmakers, was concealed under a blanket at the movie's start. This delightful short film, devoid of a traditional plot, guarantees chuckles and a charming peek into the world of silent-era comedy.
