New Moon (1940)

Parisian heiress Marianne de Beaumaniour embarks on a riveting journey to New Orleans, intending to examine the plantation she recently inherited from her late uncle. Among the ship's diverse company are bondsmen destined for the harsh life of slavery. An intriguing character sharing their fate is Charles, Duc de Villiers, a man at odds with the king, who conceals his noble identity under the guise of a bondsman. Purchased by Marianne's unsuspecting plantation manager, Charles immediately captivates Marianne with his enigmatic charm. Upon uncovering his true identity, she takes a bold step, liberating Charles before French officers have a chance to apprehend him. With her heart caught in a whirlwind of emotions, Marianne sails back to Paris aboard the ship 'New Moon', accompanied by the Police Captain. However, their journey first mandates a stop at the exotic Martinique. Their voyage takes an unexpected twist when pirates commandeer the ship.
