In the humdrum monotony of suburban life, Leslie Shaber finds herself trapped in a stale marriage, ignored by her football-obsessed husband, Howard. Their teenage daughter Jennifer, in a heartfelt attempt to rekindle their fading romance, orchestrates an unexpected gift of flowers supposedly from Howard. On the same day, Leslie ventures to a local pet shop to secure a flea-collar, only to have her purse snatched by a thief. The shop's enigmatic owner, Harry Thropen, gallantly retrieves it, unveiling his true identity as a werewolf in the process. Bewitched by his charm, Leslie is drawn into a lunch date with Thropen.
